Christmas resources

I was recently reading an interview where the author, Philip Yancey, was telling a story about a South African woman named Joanna who began a prison ministry that radically transformed one of her country's most violent prisons. When asked how she did it, she said: "Well, of course, Philip, God was already present in the prison. I just had to make Him visible."

It’s just as true for you on your campus as it was for Joanna.  God is already at work on your campus.  You just have to point Him out to people there, help them see Him for who He is.

I love the holiday of Christmas because it is so easy to make Him visible!  [I originally linked 2 evangelistic Christmas posters, but they are no longer available.]  There is a short presentation of the gospel in the presentation, so if you hand any of these out or give any of these away, please let me know how many you gave to students.

So how can you use this poster and flyer?  The possibilities are endless.  A few suggestions are:
o   print out several posters and hang them in places where students stand around waiting for something, so that they have time to read the poster
o   hang it on your door if you live in a dorm
o   make up hundreds of copies of the quarter-page version and give them to your friends, group mates, etc.
o   go early to class and place one on the desk where every student sits
o   hand them out during every break as students pass by
o   you could print them on quality paper and use them as Christmas cards
o   to be more creative, roll the poster or quarter-page flyer into a scroll and tie it with ribbon to hand it out
o   if you host a Christmas outreach, you could give one to each student as they leave (the rolled up option with the ribbon would be especially nice to give out)

I am only semi-creative.  I’m sure you can come up with more ideas for your campus.  Please write me and tell me what ideas you came up with so that I can pass them along.  I am attaching the documents I created in Publisher so if you have access to Publisher you can make your own creative changes.  Please send me the new documents that you created so that I can pass these new versions along as well.

I would also love to hear what you think about posters like this in general as we may work on some more to give you.

One more resource for Christmas outreaches:

A Christmas Gathering is an idea from our Family Life ministry that you may be able to adapt creatively to suit your context.  There might be something there to inspire you to make Jesus visible on your campus as we look forward to the season of celebrating His birth.

As always, know that we are praying for you!  Please let me know how we can more specifically pray for you and please let me know how God is working on your campus.  These stories may be insignificant to you, but they will really encourage me as my part in ministry is helping you to be more effective.
