Personal and Movement-wide Prayer

Have you ever heard of Epaphras? He’s not too famous, but he’s the one who first brought the gospel to the people living in Colossae. Paul calls him a “prayer warrior” in Colossians 4:12.: "He is always wrestling in prayer for you ..."

Could this be said about you?  Are you committed to asking God to work at your campus?  Are you taking time to pray to God every day?  Are you joining others in regular prayer to ask God to work through you at your campus?  Are you periodically calling those involved in your group to special times of prayer throughout the semester?

Andrew Murray reminds us that "Time spent in prayer will yield more than that given to work… Prayer opens the way for God Himself to do His work in us and through us. Let our chief work as God's messengers be intercession; in it we secure the presence and power of God to go with us."

If you are like me, you may appreciate some direction in the area of prayer.  I sincerely try to pray, but when I end up praying for the same things over and over again each day, I grow bored and lose interest in praying.  I came across the attached document a few years ago and it helped to give me some tracks to run on in knowing how to focus in personal prayer as well as how to help to establish a prayer movement in local ministries.

…I would appeal to God; I would lay my cause before Him. He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.  ~Job 5:8-9

I pray for you to become known as an ‘Epaphras’ in your ministry! (Pray the same for me!)
